Greetings from Marmaris, Turkey. After leaving Alanya, we spent over a week stopping and anchoring at different beautiful places along the coast. Never traveling over 20 miles a day. Here are some pictures from our stops.

Ruins in the town of Side.

Good day to all. We are safe, happy and healthy and in Turkey. We had an fairly easy 115 mile passage from Paphos, Cyprus to Alanya, Turkey. We even got to sail for about five hours in wind that was blowing at 12-15 knots just forward of the beam.

These pictures are from the Paphos area within walking distance from our boat and from within walking distance from our boat in Alanya, Turkey. How amazing is that!

This is a very old castle/fort that was built to
protect Paphos, Cyprus. We took the picture
from our boat.

These pictures were taken at the Tomb of the
Kings which dates back to the 4 century BC.

Paula, still the pillar that holds up my world.

Lighthouse and outdoor theater. The theater
is part of a 3rd century BC Roman villa.

This is a small part of a very large mosaic that
covered the floors of the Roman nobles villas.

Remains of one of the villas.

The information sign at this church and courtyard,
in Paphos, said that the Apostle Paul was tied to one the pillars
here and beaten.

There was a dog show and concert on the quay
the night before we left Paphos. We felt very
special but they really didn't have to go to all
that trouble.

We thought the party and baloons were special
but an air show too. These are the Red Devils.
They flew over the anchorage we stayed at and
then flew over again the next morning while we
were underway.

We were 35 miles off Cyprus when this beautiful
bird hitched a ride

Alanya, Turkey from our anchorage

Another view from our boat but facing west. It is
hard to make out in this picture, but the entire hilltop
is part of the Alanya Castle and fort that was
built in 1226.

Views from the top of the aforementioned hill
and castle.

The Red Tower, built in 1226, is a famous landmark
in Alanya.
