Greetings everyone, we hope you are healthy and happy.

We did it! We sailed around the world! On Monday January 19, 2009 at 2:15 PM we reached the spot (latitude and longitude) where the circle part of our journey began.

After leaving Aruba, we had a rough 4-day sail to Panama but were pleased upon our arrival to be surrounded by lush jungle. We spent a few days on anchor in Colon (don’t go there) completing paperwork and preparing for the Panama Canal transit. The transit was a very interesting experience. We were rafted to another sailboat as we went through the locks as you can see in the pictures. Then we spent several days anchored off Flamingo Island. It is on the Pacific Ocean side of the Canal near Panama City.

We can hardly express how great it felt to reach the Pacific Ocean. OH MY GOD!!

Then, after 3 days of mostly great sailing we arrived in Golfito, Costa Rica. Golfito is where we began the westward part of our journey.

Next, we make the long journey up the Pacific Coast, heading for HOME!

We entered the first set of locks at night.

After spending the night in Lake Gatun, we entered
the second set of locks in the afternoon.

The Bridge of the Americas and the Pacific Ocean!

In Costa Rica, flying the flags from all the countries
we visited.
